Did You Know Trees Can Be Damaged By Water?

without comments

Have you ever noticed the trees around your home and the amount of damage that nature does to them every day? If they have had a lot of water under their roots, it can cause the tree to die off because their roots will become rotten and this tree will die. Some of your trees will have all kinds of mold on them that will live off of this tree until the tree itself dies. We lose many of our trees because of this very reason, and our world needs these trees because they put oxygen back into our air.

When you plant new trees, you need to make sure that they don’t become over watered because this can cause them to die off before they have a chance to even start to grow. The big companies that cut down the big trees that we still have around this country need to replant these trees that they cut down to help with the upkeep of our air. If they aren’t made to replace these trees, our air supply will start to become more polluted as the plants that put these fumes into our air supplies haven’t been able to stop putting them into the air even with all of the steps that they have already put into play in their plants.

Even with small amounts of these fumes getting into our air supply and the loss of all of these trees, our air supply will become more harmful for us to breathe and our plants will start to die. Everywhere you look today, you will see dead trees and all of these should be cut down because if lightning were to strike them, they would start a fire even if they were wet from the rain. These are dry all the way through from top to bottom, and the fire could travel down this tree all the way to the bottom before ever hitting the ground. By this time, it would be a good sized fire, and it will go to the other dried trees around it first because this fire seems to know how to keep moving and stay alive.

We really need to make our planet more green and safe by doing whatever we can to save our planet by replanting the trees they cut and the fumes that they keep putting into our air. If our government really wanted to help with new jobs, they can find and hire people to go around cutting down these trees and replanting them.

Planting Trees Too Near Foundations Can Cause Water Damage

without comments

Everyone loves a big yard that has a lot of foliage. This can come in the form of trees, shrubs, and flowers. No one needs to tell anyone that has a large yard and all of this lovely foliage how difficult and time consuming it can be to keep it all maintained. It requires pruning, feeding, fertilizing, mowing, and replanting. It is a great hobby for some and a great pain for others. Some people have to have landscapers to come in and help them keep up with it.

New home owners who get to start with a clean slate love the prospect of planting trees and other things. Sometimes it turns into more work than they are prepared for and sometimes they can make mistakes that end up being not so good for the home. It might sound weird, but there is truth in it.

Planting trees and large shrubs too near the foundation of the house can mean that the roots will grow under or up against the blocks. This can cause undue stress on the foundation that can lead to erosion and cracks. We all know that when a foundation develops crack or the mortar is weakened it can eventually allow water to seep in. It can go into the crawlspace of the home, which is not good or it can go into your basement, which is equally not good.

The answer to this problem is making sure that the trees and shrubs are planted far enough away from the foundation as to not interfere with it. Tree roots can spread out far and wide as well as shrub roots even though they are not as large. Tree roots are very strong and as they grow they can wrap around, move, or damage anything in their way like water pipes or sewer lines. The location of these lines should be considered as well when planting trees and shrubs.

Aside from the damage trees and bushes can cause to the foundation of your home planting them too near can also mean that the limbs will scrape against your home siding and window. This could mean scratches and panes. When the trees grow tall enough, broken limbs can land on the roof. They can also allow small animals to easily get on the roof and make nest in your chimney and gutters.

When plants are too near the foundation, you also have to water them regularly and having too much water accumulating near the base of the home is not a good idea either. So, the key is to choose your planting locations carefully before you put things in the ground.
