Smoking is one of the most easily addicting bad habits in the world to pick up short of illegal drugs. A nicotine addiction has an iron grip over the smoker that many smokers can rarely muster up the will power to resist. However, it is not an impossibility for one to quit. In fact, it is a task that any person should be able to accomplish with the right motivation and a lot of developed will power.

Remind yourself how when you light up a cigarettes, you are literally inviting poison into your body. Remind yourself that it is stupid to willingly ingest poison over long periods of time. You need to then tell yourself that you no longer smoke. Breaking the smoking mentality is part of why so many people fail when they try to quit smoking. It is important that you keep in mind that you may slip up and smoke at least once. Do not get angry or beat yourself up about it, as it is understandably difficult to quit without temptation. It is also very important for you to have a non-smoking friend or family member hold you accountable. If it is for your friends, then keep a picture of your friends in the place you found yourself smoking the most, if possible. Do the same if your motivation is your family.
