Why Cigarettes Are So Bad For You

How’s this for starters: cigarettes are the single most preventable cause of death in the United States, if not the entire world.

Over 400,000 people in the United States alone die from cigarette related illnesses, including lung cancer and heart disease. Even switching over to so-called “low tar” cigarettes doesn’t help, because the majority of the negative effects caused by smoking are caused by just that: smoke. It is the smoke from the newly combusted tobacco that does most of the damage, not the chemicals in the smoke that are labeled carcinogens. You could get almost the same effect from breathing in smoke from other types of fires throughout your life.

The truth is, smokers are almost 10 times more likely to die from lung cancer than men who do not smoke. Smoking can cause birth defects if used while pregnant and serious side effects if done while taking certain medications.

Cigarettes also have horrible effects on your teeth. The tar that is breathed in sets in on the tooth enamel and stays there, staining it indefinitely. Another oral effect of smoking is the death of taste buds. Smoking can greatly reduce the amount that you are able to smell and taste, even hours after you’ve had a cigarette. Not only that, but bad breath also follows, ruining whatever social appeal you may have to a non-smoker.

Staining your clothes and your furniture doesn’t help the case for cigarettes, either. The smoke settles on these items and makes them stink; it also sticks to walls and causes them to be coated with a brown residue that is difficult to remove by yourself. Some homes where people have smoked for many years have to have professionals enter the home to get rid of both the stains and the smell and this can be expensive, because home owner’s insurance obviously will not cover this type of damage.

The last reason that cigarettes are bad for you is due to the amount of money you spend every month and year on them. An average smoker uses about a pack per day, which can translate into as little as $4.50 a pack to $9 a pack, depending on your location. Think about how much money that is in the long term of things. If you’re on the high end of the spectrum, it can be almost $300 a month wasted on cigarettes. Over the course of a year, that’s over $3,000 spent on cigarettes alone. You could put two 42” HDTVs in your house for that much a year; realizing that, don’t you really want to quit now?

How E Cigarettes May Help Some Quit Smoking

Did you know that this item called an e-cigarette can help a smoker get away from the habit of tobacco? It will help you the smoker get away from all of the other items that you might need to smoke that cigarette. It is cleaner for all around this smoker also as there is no secondhand smoke either. All of these things should make you the smoker think about if you should use one of these or not. You family and friends will be happy you did this for yourself as much as them.

 

You might look like you are still smoking as this e-cigarette looks like the real thing but as you will see it is nothing like that smelly old cigarette. You will not have to have that nasty looking ashtray around either as there is no ashes because you do not light this e-cigarette. You do not have to worry about all of those cigarette burns if you happen to be someone that smokes in bed. You can just pick up this e-cigarette and take a puff and put it back down. If you happen to fall back asleep with this in your hand it will not cause you to end up with a fire either.

 

You will really like the freedom you will have using this e-cigarettes as since there is no tobacco in them the bans for smokers that happen to be everywhere do not really pertain to you as you are not using a tobacco product. If you want to still go and smoke with the rest of the smokers you probably should. They are just more environmentally friendly even if you are with all of those smokers. You might even get some of them interest in the way of getting one of them for themselves. Who knows you might be able to talk all of your friends into getting one for themselves.

 

When using these e-cigarettes you will feel better and you might even find out that you have more energy to do all of the things you want to do without running out of air. With a regular cigarette you do not have that air supply to do all of those things you want to do. The longer you smoke real cigarettes you will find that you are doing less and less and being more and more tired. You will most likely have to stop all of the things you loved to do as you just can not.

E Cigarette Users Furious Over Anti-Smoking NAZI’s Comments Online

This is why there is a lot of flak an media spin to get the anti-smoking Nazi’s feathers ruffled. And yes, the anti smoking system is modeled after Hitler in the NAZI regime. Look it up.

Now, back to the quoted title, it was a title of a topic for a major pharma company board meeting early this year. They have donated 99 MILLION dollars to fund the anti smoking fundies and their main agenda is, and I quote “(1) the Foundation encouraged its grantees to be activists; (2) advocacy was emphasized to bring about policy change”, and in their own chilling words, they “provided financial support and, in particular, funds to help lobbying efforts which the Foundation could not support directly.”

So, all of you hitler followers need to educate yourself and see what road you are heading down with your self rightous attitudes. Our government protects big tobacco and the pharma companies to protect their profits and taxes, they sin tax the smokers, but keep it legal.

Pharma has lobbyist full time in washington to protect their interest, which is a 2.3 billion dollar a year cessation market for trash products that work on less than 2% of people who try to quit.I had spent thousands trying to quit over a 20 year out of 25 year smoking habit, so any moron that says I was not serious is insane.

Do you think that 2.3 billion a year is commitement to quit by more than a handfull of smokers?You people do not think past the end of your noses. I quit after 25 years with the e cigarette, my mom quit after 45 years with them, and there have been a total of six now that I have given them to that have quit using them.

Next, there are health studies on the nicotine, what is absorbed and the likes. First off, there is 1/10th to 1/20 the amount of nicotine in an e cigarette compared to a regular tobacco cigarette. Over 98% of the nicotine is absorbed in the throat, the rest in the lung, and only a trace amount is exhaled, so nobody else is getting any, so that boat dosen’t float.

There is a reason that the pharma companies are scared, because they know it works. Don’t be stupid and try to help stop the one chance that smokers have to get large numbers to quit forever.

The Items You Can Use To Quit Smoking

If you are a smoker, have you tried all of the items available on the market that say will help you stop of smoking? There are some of you out there that might not be ready to quit, but it is nice to know that there are products and help available when you are ready. You have nicotine gum, nicotine patches and then all of the other things that you can buy by yourself. Then there are the things that you can only get by the professional doctors. There is even a newer nicotine product called an electric cigarette that is not actually marketed as a stop smoking device, but it could help you stop smoking tobacco at the very least and it is thought to be a less harmful way to smoke and get nicotine.

As you might have found out, the nicotine gum and patches do not always really help. Some might help for a while and then they will quit working as well so you will usually just stop using them and go back to the smoking. Some of these can really make you sick, like the ones of you that have one of the patches on and keep smoking. If you end up in a stressful situation what is the first thing that you think of? Nine times out of ten it will be a cigarette.

Most of you might try on your own, but over half of you will fail. It is not easy to stop the habit of smoking because you continue to smoke so long, you are hooked. Usually when you start smoking you might end up feeling high or even a little light headed and you like this feeling so you will keep smoking them hoping to receive this feeling each time. After the first couple of times you will not have this feeling so often, but you keep trying. So it is that easy to become hooked.

Have you been to your doctor lately? Has he asked you if you smoke and then told you that you should quit? He is not just telling you this to hear himself talk. He is trying to keep you from getting all of the diseases that you can develop from these and keep you from ending up in the hospital or worse. These smokes in the end will kill off the organs in your body and then in the end, kill you.

Trying To Quit Smoking Naturally

If you decide that you want to quit smoking and you think you have tried all of the products that happen to be on the market, you might want to go the natural way. Doing so this way is a cleaner and a simpler solution. As most of you have probably tried to quit several times, you find that a lot of you will end up back in the habit of smoking cigarettes. The hardest way to quit is cold-turkey, but this is a way that works for some. Those that are able to quit this way and last a year, can many times be able to say that they have quit for good.

To quit is always hard, but with the help of friends and others that have gone through this task can make it easier. You might even want a professional to help with some of the other ways of quitting. Your doctor could be one of those others or even the pharmacist at you local drug store. Either one of these people could help you decide which way would be best for you. Going cold-turkey really means that you have made a firm decision to quit. If you do not have a firm decision to quit, your chances of being successful might not be very good. Saying that you want to quit and being able to do it are two different things. Sometimes saying we are going to do something is a lot easier than actually getting it done.

If you try to use the patches, gum, and even some of the other methods, if you really do not want to quit, you will not. This want to has to be so great that you force yourself to find all of the other things to do to keep from going back a cigarette. In doing so, be careful as some of the things that you settle on might be just as bad. If it is something that you have never done before and have second thoughts about it, stop before you do it and think it through all of the way. These things could be overeating or trying to exercise too much too quickly. Joining a stop smoking support group might be a good idea to get extra help.

If you want can, try to find someone else that wants to quit smoking also. This could be a group of your friends that have all decided that they want to quit. These friends will help each other to keep themselves from smoking. It is usually a lot easier to quit when you have someone else there with you to go through all of the steps. If you and your mate decide to quit, it is usually easier this way as the two of you can pull from the strength of the other. When one gets weak, the other can boost your willpower.
