Finding And Removing Mold From Different Areas In Your Home

without comments

So you have gone through you house and discovered mold in several places and do not know how to go about getting rid of it. Well, you are in luck because there are ways for you to get rid of mold without breaking the bank. The best thing is that there are also ways of preventing any further damage from happening to your home.

The first thing you need to do is survey any damage that has been done to your home. This covers everything from your walls, your carpets, your bathrooms, your kitchen, and all across the house. We will start off in the bathroom. The first place you should check for mold is underneath your bathroom sink. Underneath the bathroom and kitchen sink as well, is a good place for heat and moisture to get together and become a feeding ground for mold. You can get rid of this mold with the assistance of chemical cleaning agents. You can buy these cleaners at most supermarkets. A water leak is most likely the cause of this particular mold.

You should next inspect your refrigerator for any food stuck in hard to clean areas, as these spots can be feeding grounds for molds and spores. Your refrigerator should be cleaned out at least once a week because you really do not want to be eating any leftovers that have been in there for any longer than that anyway. Wipe the inside down with disinfectant. Throwing out old food that might be moldy will and wiping sown inside will keep mold from cross contaminating things that are still good.

The next area to cover is the floor. You will want to check the carpets for any mold. Typically, this involves any yellow, brown, or black discoloration on your carpet. One thing that you can do to clean up the carpet is to rent a carpet shampooer. Some supermarkets offer them for rent, but if your local supermarket does not then you can rent one elsewhere. If the damage done to your carpet is too extensive, however, then you may want to hire a professional carpet cleaner. Look on the Internet or your local paper for any specials professional cleaners might be offering.

The next area to keep an eye out on is the bathroom. This is the place where you take those long showers and those long showers cause a massive buildup of steam that clings to your walls. If the condensation on the walls stays there for too long, then the water can seep into cracks between your baseboards, air vents, and tiles and this can lead to mold growth. If you are only dealing with tile, then your regular store bought chemical cleaning agent should work just fine in the elimination of the mold.
