Free Netbook, Free Netbooks
Can I Really Get A Free Netbook?
With the economy in the state that it’s in today, a large number of people are wondering how they can get things for little or no money and the subject of netbooks and laptops is no different. YourFree[Wii/Playstation 3/Xbox360/Netbook/Laptop/Ipod].com has been around for years, promising a free whatever if you’ll just sign up, complete one of their offers, and then get several other people to do the same thing. But, does the whatever end up being free at the end of the day?
The answer to that is, of course, no. However, the little amount of money that you can spend on getting a free netbook or laptop is negligible considering the actual cost of a brand new item. In most cases, you couldn’t get a used one on eBay for the cost of one from a program like this. You really can get a brand new netbook or laptop really cheap using this method.
So, How Does It Work?
When you sign up, you will be likely be prompted to fill out some surveys and after you are done with that, you will be asked to complete one of the many trial offers that they have available at that time. Many of these will be 7, 14, or 30 day trials of a product or service, like Gamefly.com, Netflix, etc. When someone signs up for one of these offers, the website owner gets paid for bringing the service or product a new customer, which is often a sum of anywhere from $25 to $100+, depending on the offer. Consider the fact that you have to bring in several other people to complete one of these offers, as well, and you will understand how they can afford to buy you a new netbook or laptop.
But, Are They Making Any Profit?
Of course they are. No one would go through the trouble to put up a website like that and keep it running long term without making any profit, right? Most of the profit that they make is due to people signing up, completing one offer, then getting a couple of other people to complete an offer, and for some reason, they stop getting others to sign up and they never get their free product.
What Should I Sign Up For?
You should always sign up for something that interests you. You’d be surprised how many trial offers are products or services that you were considering trying out, anyway. Netflix or Gamefly are prime examples of this.
Can I Cancel The Trial Offer After I Sign Up For It?
I wouldn’t encourage that, since it’s a violation of most terms of service to do so when participating in a program like this. If the website doesn’t get credit for you completing the offer, they’re obviously not going to give you a credit toward getting your free product. If you put your sign up link on a page that encourages people to cancel their offers after receiving credit for them, you could have your account deleted and be unable to have another one.
How Do I Get Others To Sign Up, Too?
Getting others to sign up isn’t as easy as some services might make it out to be, but it can definitely be done. Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and a myriad of other social networking sites are good places to try and find people to sign up. Forums are another place, but you need to check their posting rules before leaving a link anywhere. Most companies will not tolerate link spam; that is, going into a forum for the first time, posting your link, and leaving. Your account can be deleted for this.
Can I E-Mail A Bunch Of People My Link?
You can, but it’d better be people that you know personally. Spamming their link out to a load of people you don’t know is a dangerous prospect and this could also get your account deleted.
Is It Really Worth It?
Whether you’re looking to get a free netbook, free laptop, free Nintendo Wii, or whatever you’re looking to get, it will take some time to get what you want and a little money. Nothing in life comes free, but you can get pretty close.
